#6 - Leadership Questions from Gingko Fellows : How to lead staff and keep their creativity?

How to lead staff and keep their creativity-

During a workshop with 9 Chinese social entrepreneurs (Gingko Fellows), hosted by I-Genius, in collaboration with the British Council, Beijing, in July 2011, I was thrilled to be invited to meet with the fellows and exchange concepts on leadership. After this tour, full of visits to great social enterprises, the fellows returned to China with fresh new ideas on leading the future of philanthropic development in the Far East.

Here's the series of transcripts of the session we had together:

#6- How to lead staff and keep their creativity?

I’d like to refer you back to questions 1 and 3 (see previous posts).
Coach people rather than micro-manage. They will develop their own skills and strengths, and feed their creative spirit with their experiences.
Ask your team questions that foster great thinking.
If these questions are challenging, be prepared to offer platforms to help them answer these questions. It might be that you need to organize training, contribution from expert in a particular field. Make sure that people enjoy learning at all time and are in position to reflect on this learning and use it every day.

Look at how others are doing it:

“A leader without a title is better than a title without the ability to lead”.
